Mark Buchanan just called me and explained what happened. We both agreed that we understood before the elims that it was based on a full field of 16 cars. Give him a shot at getting this settled. He was also whinin' that his car ran it's best ever pass and still got his ass handed to him by a Ford...lol

I just got off the phone with Mark Buchanan -- and he says the track promised to payout NSS as a 16 car field. He's going to meet with them -- and asking for us to be patient, and he'll see that we get supplement checks.
Let's give him a chance to work this out with the track, and get the correct payout mailed out. We need NSS races here in the south -- and he sounds sincere on this all being a big surprise to them.

The only reason I hadn't stepped in and said anything up to this point is that I don't jump to conclusions before I find out all of the facts, then I jump. We have always paid NSS and NMC off of a 16 car field. I knew there was no way to get anything close to 32 and we all agreed that to keep the payout as close as we can to what is published is to do them at 16 cars. There are more than enough bracket cars around to make good sized fields in the other classes. There, we may have to trim the number of classes a bit to get each class car count consistantly around 32. Tranny..... you didn't drag your sorry ass up here so sit down and be quiet .... just kidding, we missed having you . But if you and Damon could have made it, we would have had a 16 car field of 14 good cars and 2 Chevys. Your math is correct.... glad you can count money. We have always known that the money coming in from entries in NSS and NMC wouldn't pay the full deal at 16 cars, but it was worth juggling the funds a bit to make a good payout for you guys. Dave, the reason I didn't reply much to you at the track yesterday was because I knew something didn't sound right but I didn't have any of the paperwork with me to make sure of a couple of things. I like to be sure I know what I am talking about before I speak. I also wanted to make sure that the rest of the board knew about this. That is why we work together.... because we do it well. I think you should know by now that I do a lot of things to promote NSS and NMC.... even though I don't have anything to race. I have made a lot of good friends running with you guys and I hope to keep it that way. We have done this deal for 4 years and each year we learn a little bit more. It isn't done overnight and like Mark B. said, it has taken a lot of effort from 4 guys to put this thing together. If anyone wants to step in and help out.... your are quite welcome to do so! Your first job... find us some sponsors!!! Mark... that nuff splainin?

I've always thought Cowtown put on a nice and organized event. It is when the track starts writing the checks that always takes too long (two hours after the last car goes down), and the 32 car thing was insulting -- which I never blamed Cowtown for. I can deal with the 16 car payout -- that's reasonable and acceptable. I hope the guys get supplemental checks. I report when Dallas gets his.

Mike, I have nothing more to say about this. All you did was set up the ladder..........and a cell phone by you when things "didn't sound right' to YOUR committee could have averted this.
Mark B. said he would see what he could do, that's enough for me.

To all who care,
Of course I had a great time at the Mopars at the Motorplex event and thought it was well organized and run until I got to the payout room. Needless to say my jaw droped to the floor. The payout based on a 16 field is fine but on a 32 car field was a bit stiff, especially since I never saw anything in print that it was based on a given number of cars of any number. Plus the amount I received was less than what it should of been for the "based on 32 cars" that the young lady kept quoting. I hope they will straighten things out so I can come back next year.........long live NSS racing.

I just got off the phone with Mark. There has been a meeting with the track, the Cowtown club, and the Dallas Mopar club on Monday to discuss the payouts. Mark will call me afterward. Be patient -- I'm convinced he's in our corner on this one.

I really think that three entities involve on putting on that event grasp the impact of NSS racing at the event if they don't make things right. If they don't do the right thing -- they might as well just drop NSS as I don't think anyone will travel.
On the other hand -- we sure could use a couple NSS events to start building a loyalty down this way -- and should give them a chance to do the right thing. I would suggest that if the track bones us -- that the Dallas and Cowtown clubs ought to make it whole from their proceeds if they want to build instead of kill NSS racing.
I'm not in it for the money -- but I don't like being insulted. Right now I'll accept it as being a mistake was made and they're going to fix it. After Monday night -- we'll know if it was a mistake or not.
The Internet is a game changer on tracks boning drivers -- as news hits the net before all of the cars leave the track.

Mark beat me to the post. He called me last night and left that message -- but I've been sick in bed for the last couple of days -- and didn't get the message until this morning.
