Congrats to Doug P. on his big win. I turned the red idiot bulb on against him, wish I could have gave him a better race, but thats racing. Steve Young made a comment in the lanes Friday about whoever wins this race is King Kong. This had to be one of the toughest 32 car NSS fields I have ever seen. Great job Doug P. !All racers that where at this event will agree that the NMCA did a great job at this event. After Atlanta I think we all were a little gun shy when we see NMCA/NMRA at the same event. But with over 500 race cars there we ran the final round before 4:30. Charlie and his staff made this a great race. Also hats off to the NSS turnout of 32 cars. With the Dave Classic in BG next everyone is excited about a huge turnout there. I can tell you that the NMCA has big plans to make sure that this is the best Dave Duell Classic ever. There is over $12000 of prize money on the table at this event, which is very cool. Please also do not forget about our Chandler event on July 16th benifiting Santa Clothes Club. Call me if you need more info.
Thanks, Doug D.

I blame the Atlanta track personnel for that fiasco -- and NOT NMCA. I've never seen a bigger collection of idiots leaning on their shovels on a road construction crew. I think the track personnel make the track. The people at Mechanicsville made an older track very enjoyable -- same with Bowling Green and Milan. The people at Route 66 also worked long hours and hard to keep things going -- which is not often the case at the big money newer tracks. I think we raced until midnight on either Friday or Saturday -- and the same guys who were there at 9AM when the first cars went down were there at midnight when the last went down. My understanding is that some of the crew walked off in Atlanta Sunday night after acting like complete assholes during the day. I was in the stands watching some of the classes, and watching them working at 1/5 pace and one guy always throwing the mop is a car had an issue -- which many did as the track was prepped like shit, dew was setting, and there was a big cross wind past the stands. Same with the morning prep on Sunday morning. When it was taking so long to call us in the morning (it was windy) I took the cart to the starting line and I've never seen people taking so song to scrape and prep.
Charlie Harmon was visiting with us in my coach on Thursday night -- and I truly believe that now have a better appreciation of the NSS class, mainly because of the numbers of cars we bring, the fan appreciation when we come to the line at the tracks that draw fans -- and NMCA are doing their best to try to make us happy. I think they might have taken us for granted until recently. They do appear to listen. For instance -- we've not run anywhere near the Jet car in over a year.
Right now, the best they can do for our class is to locate some more Mopar Specific contingencies -- as most are geared to Chevy and Ford -- and the Pro Thug classes on the non-make specific. Vendors like MSD and Autometer no longer do the recordable tach or ignition box -- but things like Full dashes for the faster classes. It would be nice if they'd approach TTi & Hooker for the Headers; Edelbrock for the carbs; Hamburger, Moroso, and Milidon for the pans; Milidon for external oil pumps; Indy for heads and Intakes; Royal Purple for the oil or transmission fluid; PTC for Converters; Weisco for Piston; .....
