That is the "Hustling Hoosier" 68' cuda, they will be a 9.0 or 9.25 car. Is it as big a cluster as the double race at Florida?? The cluster, I believe you are referring to, would be the "triple" race at GA..... NMCA, NMRA and LX.....

There were 33 NSS cars but Charlie's out and I'm out with a water leak in the number 3 hole. It sounded bad as I crossed the line but I had pressure. I hoped it was a rocker but all looked well when we pulled the valve covers and all looked well. Saw a drop of water come from the #3 sparkplug. Pulled the plug and water poured out. Hoped for head gasket, or even the head but this is not my year. Water coming through cylinder wall. I hope I can sleeve and save the pistons, rods, crank and cam. Second round of qualifying ended at 10:30 -- and we just finished dinner.

Yea it was the triple race that I heard the horror stories about.... That is a real shame about the block Dave, should be able to sleeve it I would think. Are those 518 casting heads?? They will crack fairly easy if ported much. Is a crack visible in the cylinder wall? poppaj

518 heads with monster valves and hogged out fairly well. The tops of the cylinders were all clearanced. Domed pitons. I believe it is a fairly high compression engine -- and that's why 413ci was getting a 3800 car to 10s.
We need to get Dallas' car out and find out why it is a little slow, and DeChico needs to get the batteries out of the Vitamin C as his aren't holding a charge.
All before the next round at 9AM

Not my year for racing or health.
First race I got pushed back in the Semis (after being Top Qualifier) for 6 drops of clear water. Next race I go .002 red in the first round. Last race this car didn't run the number in the first round -- maybe the beginning of this problem. You can't come back from three first round losses in a seven race schedule.
I'll have Dallas pull and disassemble the motor next week, and send the block to get sonic tested and resleeved. But since my season is technically done -- I think I'll run Dallas' car in the next race as FX pays a bigger purse in Bowling Green (he'll be at a wedding and can' make the Dave Duell Classic), and then run my Whale for the last two races -- so I figure it out for next year. We'll keep the Vitamin C as a backup. The only reason I ran the Vitamin C this year instead of the Whale is that I wanted the ring bad and knew I couldn't get it if I was Testing and Tuning the Whale during the season. I was dead nuts on with the Vitamin C and felt it was my best chance for the ring. Now time to look at next year for a ring in the Whale.

After the second round last night. They haven't posted the third round of the ladder yet.

Marty left to attend his mother-in-law's funeral -- but it is doubtful he'll make it back by Eliminations. Griffith has his engine in pieces -- they might have it ready. It is possible for 4 Byes in the first round.

Alright my damned $75 a month to use once a month AT&T Aircard is worthless on. Chicago area, like it is in Michigan -- so I have to type on my iPhone.
Dallas won against Tim Frees, and runs Barry who won over
Doug Duell runs Brian Merrick.
Mr. Aruba runs Steve Wilson.
Kurt Neighbor runs the Vanilla Gorilla
I'm doing this from memory but
Millwood is in Midile is out Bates is in Donnie Wilson is out Jerry Knuenster is in Dr. 4-Speed is out The blue 65 Comet is in The black GTS is out Skippy is out I'm not sure of anything else

OK -- now that I have Internet and can see the ladder -- there are some damn good match ups for the 2nd round this morning:
Neighbor and the Vanilla Gorilla Poskevitch and Bates Al Coda and Griffith (the 4-speed 65 Comet was to have run -- who ran a 11.500 with .023 in his first ever race I'm not sure who Kuenster (59 El Camino) runs DiChico and Steve Wilson Dallas and Barry Camp Merrick and Duell and I don't know who runs Millward

Bates Red Lit against Poskevitch DiChico Red Lit against S. Wilson Neighbor beat the Vanilla Gorilla Corda beat the 65 Comet Berens got a broke buy when the 59 Chevy blew a fuse and couldn't get another one in quick enough Dallas' 9.77 beat Barry's 9.507 with a better reaction time Duell Beat Merrick Millward beat Kruger (Red Lit)
Dallas runs Wilson Duell runs Millward and the winners of those run each other
Neighbor runs Poskevitch Corda Runs Kruger -- and the winners of those run each other
They're just now starting to run Pro-Thug classes, so it might be awhile before they run the next round. I'm sure the True Street and the Brackets will run their series first. Maybe they'll run another round of NSS and Open Comp since there are so many of them compared to the other classes.

Even with the seat and all weight out -- Dallas' car couldn't run the number. 1/10 off.
Millward got backed out for a water leak on the bottom hose -- so it is Duell against S. Wilson.
Corda beat Berans, and Poskevitch beat Neighbor -- so they run each other in the Semis.
We're packing up the rig for the long drive home with a detour in Evansville. I'll try to update by phone.

Duell's 9.755 was bettered by Wilsons 11.01 but Doug had a better enough reaction time to take the stripe. Poskevitch took out Corda so the finals will be the battle of the Dougs
