Dallas is starting to get the cars out right now to warm them up and put chargers on them. It is pretty cold and overcast -- but there's no rain in the forecast. Time Trials start at 9AM and Qualifying starts at 3PM and then again at 7PM.
I think we'll let a couple of cars go down the track to put a little heat in it before we make a hit. The turnout other than NSS looks real light so far -- but the gates open in ten minutes. I'm thinking we might get too hits if the Mustangs don't oil the track down too often, or clog the lanes getting towed to make their 13-second hit. lol

The young guy with the Honking Hooser is here, that 7001 car I thought was a 66 Plymouth (and he's running AA/FX and traveling with the Faith guys), there's a burnt orange 63/64 Plymouth with a 65 front clip. The guy from Florida with the black GTS (I'm having a brain fart on the name) is also here. I'm trying to think of who I'm missing. Bates has been under his car all morning replacing his transmission. Dallas just left to give him a hand. Dr. 4-speed is also working on his transmission. The first cars to make a TT got it for free to put heat in the track and I took advantage of the freebie. At 10am they started punching your ticket for TT, and only have scheduled 2 TT. My first pass sucked. 11.185 with a terrible reaction time (I was shallow staged) to. I took out 100# bolted in and 30# loose, and ran a miserable 11.161, Deep Staging to improve my RT -- big mistake! The air temps are low -- but the water grains is high -- basically the air sucks. The car had a brief stumble at 5500 in first gear and just didn't pull well during that 2nd pass. I insisted that my timing was off, Dallas insisted he'd checked and set at 34 in the shop and thus it was not -- and I insisted we check it again. It turns out I was at 32 degrees. Dallas, and Doug set it to 35 while I held it at 3000RPM. I went to make another (my last) TT. Barry was in the other lane. I went back to a shallow stage and need to still work on my crappy RT between now and eliminations now that my timing is right again. I guess I'm back although I screwed up and short shifted 200 RPM early between first and second. I can always take out a battery if I need to. I most often launch at 2200 and shift at 6500. The guy from New Mexico I bought the car from said he launched at 4000, and shifted at 7000. The first pass I ever made in the car I did that and went 3/10 too fast. I thought 4000 felt awfully high to launch 1 11-second car and so launched at 2500. That made the car 60' a lot better and I was then 4/10 too fast. I tried shifting at 6500 to slow down, and it only slowed me down about a 1/10. That was two years ago, and I've never shifted above 6500 since. If they give us another hit for TT -- I'll see if shifting at 6800 is worth something. If not -- I'll leave it like it is to get in the game for the first Qualifying -- and worry about going faster in the 2nd and 3rd. There was a copy long oil downs -- so I doubt we'll get another TT. ShopHemi.com is sponsoring a Live Feed -- but I don't know the address. If you know it -- post it. Qualifying starts at 3PM and the second is 7PM. NSS is typically called 15 minutes after it starts.

That is the "Hustling Hoosier" 68' cuda, they will be a 9.0 or 9.25 car. Is it as big a cluster as the double race at Florida??
