This is interesting -- the Monster is at the same track as NMCA's final race -- just one week before that race. I'm wondering if one will have an affect the other.
I can see where some might want come to and stay for both races -- but what happens if you break during the Monster when Indy for NMCA is a double points race. I'm also wondering if this will draw away from the Dave Duell Classic -- which is at least temporarily separated from the Monster.
A lot of people were disappointed that the Dave Duell Classic and the Monster aren't together for 2011, and that it is in the NMCA points mix -- yet at the same time very grateful that the NMCA picked up the ball for the Dave Duell Classic when the Monster's future was so unclear.
Ain't nothing easy in this world.

It turns out the that Monster was sold to someone going by B1-Duster on some boards.
I'm wondering if that is the guy with the Blue duster with the 540 Call out. He had been helping Scott for the last few years -- and twisted Scott's arm to have me do his web site a couple of years back.

The promoters name is Josh King. I spoke with him yesterday and he has purchased the name from SS Promotions. I spoke to him at the Indy swap meet, which he was working on put this deal together at that time. There isnt much to report about this event at this time, Josh is still putting his plans together. So there is no confusion I am fully committed to holding the Dave Duell Classic with NMCA. I choose the NMCA because they can provide the best structure to move this event into the future. I can assure you this event will be the best Dave Duell Classic ever. At this point between sponsors for the class runoff and Sundays purse there is about $13800 up for grabs. Our committee is fully committed to giving the NSS racers at this event the best customer service experience ever! As for Joshs event if he chooses to run a NSS class we will support him. I always open to anyone giving us a new place to race. As always if you have any questions feel free to to contact me. Thanks, Doug Duell Attachments:

A weekend between races, at that time of year in the midwest both should draw a good NSS count, nearing end of season. We will probably make both if NMCA/NNSS rules are used at Monster. I hope the new owner does not try to reinvent NSS like the Victory series did which hurts car count/paticipation.

He sent me an email asking for me to call about NSS. I guess to promote it on the forums. I'll call him later.

There is a long thread on Moparts about it. As I understand it it will be an "All Make" race and follow the NMCA/ National NSS rules. I am excited to have another race available in the later part of the year plus it is only a three hour tow for us ;D. I think it will be a well attended race judging by the intrest shown already. poppaj

What did the Victory change about NSS? I plan on going to some of their events because they are only a hour away from me.

I might try to make both the Monster and the NMCA race at Indy since they're one week apart at the same track. My main concern is that the NMCA race is a double points race -- so neither of us can afford to break at the Monster and not get the car fixed for NMCA. Also need to figure out where to stay for the four nights we're not racing.
Finally, I have to convince my 23-year-old son who will most likely be looking for any excuse to not spend to weeks in a motorhome with me.

Atomic Wedge, The Victory series is multiple carbs only, for the Nostalgia look. This year they use 1/4 index, usually Fri/Sat night races. Since NMCA/NSSA permit single carbs for some cars and some guys run that setup, they turn away/turn off those customers, not a lot of cars but some. A good series otherwise with a end of year points fund, two day deals, and closer than most for us.

Dave, the Indy race dates are not back to back weekends, Sept 23-25 and Oct. 6-9.

Well -- that makes my decision easy then. No Monster for me. Too damn far.
I hope that some day if moves back to the center of the US, as I'm not going all of the way to Indy for what once was my favorite Mopar event.

.25 sec index kind of sucks. Wont that waterdown the classes? Oh well, it is close so I will take what I can get.
