Rumors are that there is suppose to be an announcement regarding Gateway today or Tuesday. The buyer is suppose to be more on road racing than drag racing.
Anyone hear anything?

Source: Dragracingonline Magazine www.dragracingonline.com/agent1320/2011/1320-xiii_6-43.htmlGateway International Raceway in St. Louis to re-open? Apparently the shuttered Gateway International Raceway located in Madison, Ill., just across the Mississippi River from downtown St. Louis is on the verge of re-opening. Last year the four owners of the land the facility is built hired the original developer of the multi-use auto racing facility, Chris Pook, and former general manager of the track, Rod Wolter, to resolve the back tax issues and find a buyer. Reportedly the two men have been successful. According to our source, a wealthy St. Louis local businessman with ties to the Sports Car Club of America is in the last stages of finalizing a contract. This would not be the first time that persons connected with the SCCA have invested in the Gateway property. If the deal does go through, that would almost certainly mean a re-opening of a weekly drag racing program and a return of St. Louis to the NHRA schedule. Stay tuned. [06/24/11]

Any updates?
A little told me that NMCA would return if the track reopens and is restored to past glory.
I don't hear many facts about Gateway, just opinions and rumors. I'd love to see the track to open and the Monster to return.
