Weather cleared Sat. afternoon, and they said they were going to have an abbreviated Memorial and Cackle fest, then run one maybe two rounds, then continue Sunday.
After they started eliminations, they told us we were going to run as long as they could. I believe the weather forecast for Sunday scared them (as it should have, it was storming Sunday AM).
The rest is history. Got all done right after midnight.
In hind-site, they made the right call. As much as it rained early Sunday, it would have been noon (at the earliest) before eliminations would have started.
You're not alone. 18 NSS racers went home Saturday, thinking the day was over. It really messed up the ladder! But there was some GREAT RACING!

NHRA showed people how to get an event ran. No fooling around, just racing. It worked out to for the best as we had some heavy storms early Sunday morning. Jim N.

I think it was Dallas' "Get er dun", folks at Beech Bend, more than NHRA. Those folks know how to run a race! Atlanta should send all their people there for lessons!!!!! Seems the racers had their cars in better shape this year, too. Not as many oil downs.
