I have a 65 Coronet w/SS springs(in board) mid 600 hp runs mid/hi 10's. I am using the Comp Eng. 3 way rear shocks and the 90/10 Calvert fronts. The rears are on the XF setting. A few years back I also put bigger torsion bars in because the car was a cruiser. I know i should put the others back in but that isn't the only traction issue so how should I set the rear up or should I just switch to Cal-Tracs

Not a lot of people have been happy with SS springs. Frankly I'd suggest getting away from leaf springs and to go coil over ladder bar of 4-link -- but if you're going to stay leaf springs I'd call Calvert and get their suggestion for your set up. We went to Caltracs, monosprings with a 1" lift, and Rancho 9000 13--way shocks on the Demon based on Calvert's recommendations -- and the car hooked well.

I am going to replace my SS Springs with the Cal Trac Set-up. Super Stock Springs did a good for me when I was in the 11 second bracket. I did not use the pinion snubber but I ran a lot of pinion angle. I have about a 100 more Horsepower and have mini tubed for a 10.5W slick that is 2" wider than what I had. In my opinion, Caltracs work because they control pinion angle and spring wrap-up...The right shock is the key to a leaf spring set up.
