As some of you may have already heard this bit of nostalgia news..........All of you who know me will get a kick outta this. I am old, but not that frickin old nor am I dead yet..........but on Saturday Sol Stewart of the ODRR, Old Drag Racers Reunion . called and informed me that I had been selected to be inducted into the ODRR Hall of Fame. Not sure who was on this year's panel, but he did say that Phil Bonner and Hubert Platt cast a vote for me...I don't think either of those ole boys are beholding to me in any way and no favors or money is owed. Induction is to be in Panama City, Fl in September at the next Reunion. If I live that long.....................I am sure many of you can conjure up some good ones for this post...........enjoy it while you can.........

Congratulations Mark. No one is more deserving than you. You've master about every phase of building and racing cars of all makes in both drag racing and NASCAR.
And since I'm not beholden to have to suck up to you - you know that is my honest opinion.
What are the dates of the ceremony

That Hover round better have an FE in it.
I am sure that Hubert will have some of his famous "sippin' whiskey in the trunk of his car..........a few shots of that stuff will be enough...........ask Dan about that.

Proud to see it- I'm thinkin it may be road trip time to make sure you go......and participate.....besides it's time for a Hubert fix anyway-And all kiddin aside from somebody who damn sure knows what you have contributed- big congrats

I saw Hubert at Atlanta Dragway during the NMCA race. I started to ask him if he had a nip I could get since it was 5hours between rounds but wasn't sure if I would get it mixed up with the 113 fuel I had since they are so close.  Congrats Mark, You have worked hard over the years for this. Keep us posted I may have to make a road trip to see how well you clean up--lol. Mike Davis |
