Anyone ever been to this track before?
I was just looking at the map and it looks to be a PITA to get to, and on the satellite -- it looks to be deep in the woods and not have a large pit area.
I've never been there before.

It's a nice track. Lots of paved pits, Best bathroom at a race track. Really great owners. and they love NSS cars. You can see the track is on pass time reruns all the time. You will have a good time there. If I can get the wagon fixed, I should make it. I will be nice to see NMCA racers and friends I have not seen in a long time.

Ok -- let's make this the "Official Mechanicsville" thread.
Dallas and I should be pulling out by noon today -- as Dallas will have to do all of the driving.
It appears that I've been infected with the Ecoli bacteria for some time -- which was initially swelling my legs up. It kept getting misdiagnosed as heart related. Then I suddenly and quickly got a case of epididymitis. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epididymitis)
I've gone through the windshield (from the back seat) of a car traveling over 100 and fallen off a moving train while hopping it; I've been in two motorcycle accidents and severed the top digit of my right index finger (reattached); I have had three shoulder surgeries and two kidney surgeries; three knee surgeries and throat surgery; a heart attack in 89 and cancer in 91 -- but this was the most pain I've ever been in. I wouldn't wish this on my worse enemy.
I was getting worse on the first medicine prescribed, while other medicines were being tried on cultures of the bacteria to see what would kill it. Friday they changed my medicines to include high dosages of Bactim ES. The swelling stopped and has actually reversed (and my ankles look better than they have in a year or more) -- but the medicine makes me queasy and I have a problem sitting.
I want to at least get my car through Tech Thursday so I get the points for making the race and teching in -- and at least one qualifying round Friday to get on the ladder. Hopefully I'll be good enough to make eliminations.
That long tangent is because I won't be outside much (as you have to stay out of the sun with Bactin -- and I'm suppose be in bed with my nuts on ice) and won't be bringing a camera.
I'm hoping that someone else will be there with a computer who can post the photos of qualifying results and the ladder -- and keep everyone informed with what's going on at the event.
Please use this thread to do so.

Dave sorry to learn of your troubles. I just got home from Texas last night myself. Had to go down to Temple for my granddaughter's latest cancer surgery. While there I got a pinched nerve in my back that had me unable to walk and was in killer pain. Cindy got me home and to the Dr. this morning and got my spine adjusted and doing much better. Back to him tomorrow but doing much better. I was worried for a while I would never be able to drive a racecar again. ALSO SAW A DRAGSTRIP NORTH OF DALLAS CALLED THE REDLINE RACEWAY I THINK. YOU BE SAFE. JIM

Yes Mark that was it. Glad you have plenty of tracks. Some are going away around here. Still all kinds of 1/8 mile but Bowling Green is the only 1/4 mile close. I would love to have the time to stop by and see you guys on one of these trips but seems like I'm in too much of a hurry. Was a 13 1/2 hour drive non-stop except for fuel yesterday. I'm trying to get Cindy's car to the track Friday night and then mine to BG for the Hot Rod race in a couple of weeks. Got to try out this new motorhome, don't know why I keep buying these Fords. Jim

Redline -- isn't that the track you have to bring your pistol to the staging lanes and have an armed guard at your trailer?
Ok we're at a Walmart in Lexington, VA.
Doug Duell is about 240 miles west of us -- so we'll hook up here in the AM.

We got to the track at 4PM yesterday, paid our extra $80 to pit a day early, and set up the pits. There was tech or credentials yesterday. Fixing to get the cars out of the trailer in the next 30 minutes, get the paperwork done, tech in, and make a couple of TT passes before Qualifying tonight.
Doug is in the next pit over, and Barry and DW (Dw open trailered to Atlanta then loaded into Barry's stacker) next to Doug. Steve Wilson is next to Barry and DW. Joe Midile, Kurt Neighbor, Skippy, are at the other end -- and they're waiting for Jeff Milward.
