I was going to bring this up on the NMCA forums one of these days. I would almost think they have to do something, or they are not going to be around much longer.

We have two series in our area, both have a better car count than most NMCA events. I would think if you guys were to organize something that the local NSS racers would support it. As big a Texas is I would think that it would not be hard at all to get around 30 cars at an event once a month

Have any of you ever tried to drive across Texas?......east to west is a couple of days, North to south is only 6/8 hours.........unless you are coming from El Paso........then it's a day and a half.............

El Paso is closer to LA than it is to Dallas

As for regional races I recall a certain team in Texas tried several years ago,all they got as little to no support.

I know Texas has a lot of real estate but it would have to be better than driving to Michigan, Ohio or PA. There is a cicuit here in Ohio that allows NSS, NHRA/IHRA Super Stock and Stock legal cars and it gets a very nice turnout. And yes, us NSS guys hold our own very well against trans brakes and big tired cars. It is my favorite circuit. poppaj

Commerce track has always went to crap after the sun goes down or they have any down time. Been that way for 25 years no matter how many times it has been resurfaced. Not really sure why the NMCA didn't tell the track they would need some help and extra track personnel to run the event. I had 7 family members pay $25 each to come and watch me make 1 qualifying run and have 4+ hours of down time in a 9 hr window. I was hoping they would cut the bracket races out this year. The NSCA used to get qualifying in by 6pm and have a bracket race on Saturday night and it did not interfere with qualifying or eliminations and the NSCA racers could enter the bracket race Sat night. Larry Fleming used to wear his Mopar out running both.

Yes you are correct about that, and Larry used to wear out more than his Mopar. He wore out several other bracket racers as well. Jim Netherland
