Freeze coming today
Dallas is running down to the shop to drain the water from the Wagon, Coronets, Demon, and Aspen.
You might want to drain the water from you car unless your shop is heated.

My shop is insulated, but not heated. I don't have a problem with freezing until it gets into the low 20's.
I run water with a little corrosion resistor.
When it's going to be in the low 20's, I just plug it it (has a block heater). The heater also comes in handy when racing in cold weather (a rarity, but in Holly Springs, it save a bunch of $'s in warm-up fuel). Just plug it in and it stays all nice and cozy for the next round.
You can buy freeze plug type block heaters for all engines. Order one, and put it in next time you've got the engine out. It's really an item you will use. And they're CHEEP!

Well my shop is also insulated but not heated. It takes a day or two of freezing outside for the 120'X72' foundation to get the inside as cold as the outside -- but then it also takes a couple of days to warm it up again because of the same foundation and the building being insulated. Insulation works in both directions.
In the shop there's the Whale, both Coronets, the Cuda, Aspen, Demon, and Drag Pack. Easier to just drain the water when it freezes then to have seven block heaters, the cords everywhere, and the worry that a fire might start and I'm 5 miles away and wouldn't know it until it was too late.
The pool at this house has an automatic sensor for when it gets to 34 degrees and below -- that turns the filter on until the temperature raises to above 34 degrees -- to keep water from freezing in the system. A lot better than my last two pools since it is automatic. It has been running since yesterday morning.

Anyone heard about anti-freeze. Takes the worry away. Jim N. An end-of-the-race-season fill of coolant could be a time saving deal. Only one fill and drain (at the end and start of racing season) is better than repeated drain and fills of plain water during the winter. But, I think (I hope) we all agree...NO ANTIFREEZE on the race track!

It's been "antifreeze" here for about a month already, and it's still December!
