I found a set of old CHROME bolt on Chevelle ladder bars on one of these boards. They are in pretty good shape and I polished them up as soon as I got them (after I took the pic). I think they will look good under the gasser. I'll just bolt them on for now but they will eventually become a permanent weld on pair. Mark l

im into the big ponchos. you car is kool. turbo is something different.im into gassers also. redoing my 62 falcon. keepup the work. like to see it done. love poncho power. glad not chevy. im looking to do early big poncho into nostalgia stocker or super stocker. trying to buy a 60 or 62 from a guy getting closer. good luck billy the kidd bender

Updates. I got some skinnies for the front, hung the sheet metal to see what it looks like, and I pulled the rear end out so I could get a good look at the frame in case I go ahead and narrow it and also to kind of mock up the big rear tires I have. I would need to either get the tires all the way under and not modify the outside of the wheel wells, or leave them sticking out but not as much as the pic. Not sure if I have the talent to do a good radiused wheelwell. I don't want just a round cut. I would rather do something more along the lines of the hemi Darts. With more of a boxy/square cut. Either way I have to narrow the frame so I'll probably do that first, get the tire all the way under and see how that really looks. Or just stick with the slots and tires like in the previous shots. I really like the big tire look though. Mark L

Received my custom blow thru 750 based carb today. Kevin at CSU built my 830 on the TA and it worked great. This thing should be a real compliment to the entire combination. I'm changing my plans from using the stock type frame rails to building a complete one piece frame rail from the front frame kick out, back to tie into the where the lower arms were attached and then up and over the rear and back possibly all the way to the bumper crossmember. That will actually be easier to do. I've also decided now that I'm taking my time and not hurrying, I'm going to cut the firewall and move the engine back. How far is yet to be determined. It's just something I've wanted to do so I'm going to stay true to my original plan. Some better pics of the car down to almost real height, the tires all the way in as far as they will go. Once i get the frame cut out the tires will go all the way under. Mark L

Nice pontiac. I also am looking at a 62 421 SD Catalina, done as a pro street car. I am not a pontiac man, but I do like the old catalinas.

Advice: Get the turbo balanced by a real-live, performance turbo shop. 99% of the places that "build" turbos, just use stock cartridges, or an antique, rubber band driven (no joke) balancer.
Box turbos (like yours) are just stock replacements for diesel trucks. Invest in a GOOD balance and blueprint job, or you'll be buying another turbo to replace the one you just gernaded (and that cycle will continue).
Forced Inductions does all of my turbo work.
