We we're still working on Dallas' NSS car -- and didn't get it ready in time. Dallas blew the lid off the intake on my car -- and it isn't ready yet either.
So we're taking a pickup and trailer with the VItamin C back up car.
Stay tuned to this thread for our, and anyone else who will be there, updates.

Got to the track and dropped the trailer. Had dinner and now we're at a flea bag motel. Talked to DW Hopkins (He bought Bud Cochran's rig) and Barry Camp for awhile and then Doug Duell pulled in with Mr. Aruba (he's just a fan riding along with Doug for this race).
Skip Koester is missing -- and he's always the first one here. He was real pissed last year when they made us run in the fog at Memphis, and red lit against me. He swore he'd never come back -- but I didn't take him serious. He was here last year with Kurt Neighbor -- but they're both MIA so far. I hope he didn't stay pissed.
I tried to buy 2 tech cards and have Dallas and I both roll the Vitamin C car through Tech so he'd not get hit on the points for missing a race -- but no dice. If anyone has a NSS legal car nearby and wants to let Dallas be the shoe on -- call me.

Today's recap:
There only appear to be eight of us: Doug Duell Doug Poplivitch (67 Fairlaine - Green) Barry's Pig DW's Thunderbolt Wilson's Blue/White Chevelle C/NSS tan 63/64 Chevy Me The High Voltage car
Far cry from last year when we had about 21-23 cars.
The three Dark Horse cars aren't here Skip, Kurt, Jake II, and 00-Joe aren't here
I guess more could show up tomorrow -- but they'll have to register and tech in and will most likely miss the first Qualifying.
Doug ripped off a 9.52, changed his carbs and the car would bog and then do 9.4s for 2 runs, switched his old carbs back and did a 9.504
Barry did a red-light 9.48 and then shifted his Powerglide from 2nd to first for a 10.2
DW is having problems with his car -- doing a high 10 and a low 11. He thinks it is a carb issue and has parts being overnighted
I really don't know what the other four cars are up to.
On the Vitamin C car -- today was the first time I ever sat in it. I barely got the new seat belts fastened and there' no adjustment left. I was told to launch the car at 4500 and shift at 6800. I did that and got a .016 RT and my ET was a 10.86. I thought that was a good pass for the first time. I bought a set of belts from Barry -- and the were the right size. After Dallas installed them I launched at 4500 and shifted at 6500 -- and did a 10.89 -- My RT sucked. I was real confused.
For the third and last pass I figure I can slow the car down by launching at 2000 and shifting at 6000. Well that got me a 10.79 -- with my best 60' -- so much for launching at 4800! My RT was late again. The launching at 4800 didn't sound right when he told me that -- and I had to ask if he was sure. Dallas was launching that hard when he ran the car a couple of weeks ago.
I guess I'll try to Deep stage and shift at 5600 (if I can catch it fast enough on first to 2nd) -- and hope the deep stage helps my RT and slows the car a 1/10. My 4-speed launches so hard compared to this car that it must be affecting my RTs. Anyway -- I have (hopefully) three Qualifying passes Saturday to figure it out.
It was a lot of waiting because the right lane was down and not fixed until 4:30. They were to close at 5:00 but ran until 5:30.
Got to get up at 6AM to be at the gate at 8AM -- as Qualifying starts at 9AM.

Sunday morning nut cutting time. There are 11 of us and I broke out with this new car every time making me 11th. I shortshifted, easy launched, twice took out throttle cable and lifted 100' before the et beams shaving off 11mph. I have to run Doug Duell in the first round and I've been his bitch for too long. I need to try and cut a perfect light and lift earlier. If I'm lucky enough (odds are against me as I sat in this car for the first time Friday and it is way different running an automatic) to get by Doug who is dead nuts on, then I get the top qualifier (some guy in a black Dart that showed up after the first round of qualifying and did a 11.000) in the second. To make things interesting it looks like rain. Weather report says not until 1pm. But the sky and how it feels says way before that.

Ok we got in line and the rain started. Now it is really coming down. They say to hang loose until 3:30 for the next word but I'm sure that Its only for the vendors. No way were racing today. A lot of people have left but I can't take the chance they hold this over for Monday. I don't have reservations and it is suppose rain Monday anyway. I've still got to drive 1100 to drive.
