classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=25937Check the later pages of the above link. It is just one of the sites discussing this. A couple of racers have already told me that they're either debating going -- or are going to be paranoid if they do go. Michigan State Police is on the war path and giving out a lot of $250 tickets to racers in motorhomes. A couple boards are beating the jungle drums on this. I guess the Jegs Motorhome just got nailed. It appears that Michigan is going to make up their financial deficit on the backs of racers. In the eight pages of that link (thus far) -- you can see all of the confusion on the laws as many are stating opinions or rumors instead of fact. It is getting hard to to travel to races anymore with anything short of a pickup and trailer. It sure would make for a good magazine article so fact could be separated from fiction. Event promoters need to quickly start putting pressure on the tracks with the threat of no longer racing at that track, so they can put pressure on their states to stop singling out racers for there tickets. Zmax was able to stop North Carolina from doing this by getting them to make an exemption for racers traveling to a race. While maybe the promoters feel unconcerned because they don't pull motorhomes with trailers -- racers are afraid to go to tracks like Maple Grove and they might start to stay away from Milan too, if the track owner doesn't try what Bruton Smith was successful at doing.
