The National Muscle Car Association and the Nostalgia Super Stock National Association are pleased to announce a new event, the NMCA/NSSNA Summernationals to be held at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky on August 5-7, 2011 during the NMCA's 10th annual Quick Fuel Technology Muscle Car Nationals. "We look forward to working together with NMCA in producing a first class race," said NSSNA committee chairman Doug Duell. The event will feature NSS as a premier category, with heads-up class competition in 12 index classes and a special dinner on Saturday and also an all-run field of handicap eliminations on Sunday. In addition, all NSS racers will enjoy an expanded purse payout, preferred pit area parking, the backdrop of a summer weekend at one of their favorite racing faciilities and the top-notch race management they have come to expect with both the NMCA and NSSNA organizations.

Doug, Is this going to be the Dave Duel Classic, or it that "still in the works" with a new "Monster" deal?
I love it. Another Bowling Green race! My favorite track (that's still open, anyway!).
Gonna be HOT, but "been there, done that"!
Can't wait to see a complete, 2011 schedule, so we can start planning our weekends and vacation time.

My understanding is the Monster isn't dead just because Gateway is. I'm hoping Scott Seiveking makes an announcement on where the Monster will be -- soon. I'd have to guess that so long as the Monster survives -- the Dave Duell Classic will be there. BTW -- I have my hands on the new NMCA schedule -- and some other HOT NEWS concerning the NMCA. I'll post it at www.nss-racing.com this evening

Doug, This sounds great! A couple of questions, Will we have to join the NMCA to enter? Will this be a NMCA event, correct class sponsor stickers, contingency payouts, etc?

since Doug is on the road back to Indiana from Texas -- and since I've taken a look at the schedule and had a chance to talk to Charlie Harmon today -- I feel certain that you will need to be a member and the contingencies are in effect. If you look at the schedule posted at www.nss-racing.com -- you will see that this is part of the NMCA race at Bowling Green -- where NSS is the Showcase class. Just like we saw the Monster grow in car count, purse size, and fun -- if NSS drivers use this race as one of their National Events -- it can quickly grow into something real big. As big as the Monster.

The NSS Summernationals is an expansion of the NSS class at Bowling Green NMCA race. You will have to run stickers for contingency payments just any other NMCA event. As far as joining the NMCA you should. But if you do not want to you will be able race this event without joining the NMCA. Remember Friday entry at a NMCA event is only $105. This event will run similar to Monster Mopar event with parking, class run offs, Saturday dinner and an expanded purse plus contingency monies to the winner and runner up. So save the date August 5-7. The NMCA done a great job this year with NSS and I would ask you attend the events that you can. As for The Dave Duell Classic and Monster Mopar things are in the works and when I can say more I will. Finally I want congrats go out to Steve Wilson for his win in Houston. We had a close race but he kicked my butt in the final on only 3 tires. Steve is a good racer and always has a smile on his face at the track. Thanks, Doug Duell

No NASCAR, Jeff Gordon whining/blaming in this racing venue! "I JUST GOT BEAT"....don't hear that too much any more.... Good sportsmanship....a lost art.

Listed in the NSS Event's Calendar in the left sidebar at: www.nostalgiadragracers.com/If there any NSS Races that are not yet listed on that calendar (Chris Schnieder's series, Monster, Holly Springs, .....) then post so and I'll get them added.

Looking at the announcement www.nmcadigital.com/NMCA is pimping LSX, HEMI, or NMCA with NMRA races in all of the events -- but Bowling Green, where they don't say shit about this special NSS race. I don't visit their forum any more or even care to communicate with] them about the series -- but someone who does care may want to bring to their attention that they might want to promote this a little.
