Hey..Damon has not had his hands on the car yet..........built the engne, but not the car...he will finish some of the wiring and final details when it gets to Houston. Correct convertor is yet to be installed. Everything except the basic engine, including all fixtures, plumbing and brackets have been built here at Texas Thunder. Still plenty left to do. Will begin on the inner fender panels tomorrow.
Weight?.........not yet, but should come in with driver and fuel at around 3300 or less.

For sure Steve. New fuel pump should be here tomorrow. Re set the clutch and charge the battery..........
Ya should have seen Damon when he drove in from Vegas with our new project..the Comet...
Had battled sleet, snow, rain and hail...........gave him back the BIG bottle of Jack that you provided a while back...........I had held it for ransom............and he will have plenty to do on the Whale to get it race ready.........tweak here, install ths there..........make our shit work all over..............

Sorry Mark, Thought Damon installed driveline (Knew he built the motor) I am sure before it's done he will be turning a few wrenches on it. Talked to Damon, he told me about the Vegas trip poppaj

Jim, that "driveline" has had a few incarnations.......at first we had the car configured for a Jerico and clutch. Jigged everything up with a dummy block/heads and one of my Jerico's...made all necessary mods to accomodate that setup.............then the decision to change it to an automatic..........out came all of that and in went the automatic...move this, re think that and now it's setup for the torqueflyte.........then we finally got the REAL engine and it went in with a dummy trans...then we built the headers..........then we got the real trans and it all came back out and back in..........and it is a very easy slip in fit for the entire package.
Most of our work will be covered up with interior pieces and a lot of the fab stuff will be hidden from view. Kenny has done a real good job with the wiring and it will all be easily accessable and we have provided extra HOT shoes for any add ons. This car should be easily maintained and no problem to work on...hot or cold...........Plugs and wires will have plenty of access and can be changed while RED HOT without a problem.......everything has been built to be semi modular and not just bolted on without some thought. We race and have been through the entire process a few times...........We have tried to make the car user friendly and something that can be serviced without bustin yer knuckles every time. The hood is using the hinges and can be lifted off also if necessary by just pulling the rear pins. The 4 door to 2 door conversion was done for two reasons. Looks for one and entry/exit for the other. We all know that UNKA Dave needs a bit more space so the longer door was a plus for that. There is nothing worse than to have a race car that is hard to get into and out of. We are looking forward to seeing this "Whale of a Car" out there next season...........Goal is to put World Champion on the rear tailgate at the end of the season.

While the car won't be ready to race yet at the Houston race -- we'll be bringing it out for those wanting to take a peek and Scott Sparrow (talked to him Monday) will be doing a photo shoot for an upcoming FSC feature.
Jim -- hopefully y'all will be coming down to the Houston race November 12-14
We intend to finish the car and test and tune it through the winter to have ready by Bradenton.

Good deal,
I heard about the "U.S. mail service" trip: Rain, Sleet, Snow or hail we deliver on time. LOL
Went To Rosenberg on Monday and picked to Fugmarine motor up and planted it back in the car on Tuesday. Fired it up and were ready for Houston. My goal is to finish the race without cleaning chunks of metal out of the oil pan. Then bring it home and pack it up for the winter and hit the ground running next year.

I appreciate the false sense of security you're feeling. Run with it.

It does look easy to work on Mark. Looks like you also have the front clip easy to remove as well which makes things much easier to get at. A North/South Wagon match race seems appropriate.

I don't think Doug knows the "Bird is the Word" story. He'll just have to act out Bird's part in the blind.
