Hello,
I'm new to this site and to NSS. I have a 1966 Chevelle that I would like to race in NSS 10.0 class. I'm from Michigan. Do I have to join the NHRA to be qualified to run in NSS class? Are there any events in my area that run thia class? I have been bracket racing all year here in Lapeer Mi. I would like to start racing in the NSS class, any info anyone can give me would be a big help.
Thanks! Jim

I race in nss and live by Lapeer Dragway. The only NSS race is at Milan Mi. One of NMCA's effents. Go to nmcadidgital.com for a list of there races and rules. Some of there past lacations may change in 2011 but I don't think Milan will be one. You don't have to join the nhra. There's also the Monster Mopar event that draws alot of NSS Racers. There's others on the forums that may chime in with more info. Lots of fun and good ol boys. 63 pontiac 421 sd tempest that I built to show and cruise and now race in NSS every chance I get.

Welcome fellow Chebbie racer. Check out the NSS rules on the NSS site (or NMCADIGITAL.COM).
Hope to see you at one of the races!

There is a NSS race in St. Louis next weekend. NMCA is one of about 4 organizations running NSS. If you car fits the rules www.nssracing.com/nmca-rules/ then come on down.

Currently building a 66 Chevelle for NSS...........Just finished a roller 67 Chevelle for Slim, Damon Kuhn's (Fugly) crewchief for NSS and Daly Duncan is finishing up on his 67 Chevelle for NSS. The build is over on "the Old Hippie" board...........
Any questions concerning current rules and other nuances in NSS I will be glad to answer.

Welcome to the Jungle, Rat. If you have a thick enough skin, you will enjoy this Mopar Gang. Like 99.9% of Mopar Fans, these are some good folks. I know a Chevy Guy with a really nice '67 SS that he has spent a TON of money on. He asked to race my GTX and I said I would run Tittle for Tittle... I always wanted a Shevelle to fix up. He needs that thick skin I spoke of. Also needs more motor

Jim,as several have said be sure to read the NMCAs NSS rules.Think you'll find NSS racers a pretty good bunch of "good ole boys",even them "Moparts" boys.If we didn't run a 63 Ford,we'd be running a 66 Chevelle with one them look alike 396s!!
