Just putting out a feeler, asking who would come to a Old Timers Race the weekend before Houston? Holly Springs is 40 miles southeast of Memphis, on HWY 78. Great track. 1/8 mile, acres of paved parking, super friendly personnel. It's a Lakeland International Raceway Reunion. The track operator contacted me directly and said he would be putting together the details in the next few weeks. I have his ear, so tell me what you think! I just want to know who would come, or what would it take to get several NSS racers there. www.hollyspringsdragstrip.com

I can count at least 4 out of the Memphis area. We might have a NSS race after all... Ed, Jack, T.D., Myself. Either Richard or Steve already had plans, but we could count on one of them. Keep those cards and letters coming. Attachments:

Remember the Houston NSS race is the following week I put this in my original post. Sure don't want to "compete" with the Houston race. This would be a "tune up" for the Texas, NMCA race! I'll talk to my RHS contact about some contingency next week. So far, it looks like we may have enough NSS cars to race.

More info to come later in the week. We have discussed rules (looks like NSS/NMCA rules), Tree (full .500), and indexes or dial in (open discussion currently).
We may also have a race on Sat AND Sun!
If you're thinking about attending, let me know what your thoughts.

If you wanna have a NSS race at Holley Springs, call Chris at the number listed on the flyer above. Chris needs at least 20 cars to have a NSS race.
Pass the word.
Any of you guys (and Gals) from east and north, going to the Houston NMCA race the following weekend....leave a few days early and make ot a double!

Here's who we got so far (locals + those posting) ...
Steve Wilson Ed Becker Russ Kaurez T.D. Holland Jack Presgrove Damon ? Clay Chris Barry D.W. Jim Netherland Jimmy Ray (and/or Gabriel Ray. Will split driving duties if it's a 2 day, 2 race deal).
We're over 1/2 way there. Call Chris at the number listed on the flier and tell him you're coming if they run NSS.

Got a call from Chris Scheider and said he just got back from Holly Springs and would be doing the race along with Doug Duell, running a Monster type format, heads up class on Sat. with index eliminations on Sunday,Fri time runs. Said $1000 to win $600 r.u. ect. with a $100 enter fee. I live 600 miles away[ Chicago Burbs] but am considering this as i,ve been to Memphis[R.I.P.] but usually limit my trips to 400- 450 miles. Give him a call if you can make it. Mid south locations extent the season. Got to check the piggy bank, later.
