Please use this thread to post your Route66 updates.
We left Tuesday at 10:30am and pulled into a Walmart in Sikesville, MO at 11:30pm. Figure well pull out of here at 10am and get to the staging area at about 5pm. We'll need to dump the tanks somewhere along the way.
I have the Vitamin C car and Dallas has the black Coronet

made two TT and two qualifying today. I broke out in Q1 and threw in 100 pounds for round two to make sure I didn't break out. A little too much weight, and I'm number 12 of 26.
Q3 happens at 9AM and then Eliminations start at 1 PM
Doug ran a 9.751 -- but that only gets him number 2 Qualifier so far.
We're still trying to work out problems with Dallas' car.
I run a Chevy wagon, Duell runs Fire & Faith, 00 Ewing run Bates, Hopkins runs Camp, and that's about all I can remember. Eliminations start in 10 minutes.

Still waiting for the call for E1. Bates has his car on the trailer too -- blow by. Double O gets the bye. I'm really debating the weight thing. I took the last 50 pound plate out -- which I estimate is a 10.85-10.90. I think the guy I'm running is having trouble hitting his number -- but he's two seconds slower and I'll be coming up on him quick. I'm thinking I need to deep stage and make sure I don't red light.

You think this is a bad think at 125 MPH? I thought I was loosing a wheel and was hoping I could get the car slowed down before a wreck. The slick never lost air so I wound up checking torque convertor bolts, front suspension, wheel bearings, brakes, driveshaft, pinion,...... before I took slicks to Mickey Thompson's trailer to break down and look at the tubes.

I'm out. Everyone's running too slow because everyone's computer lied. I bolted in 50 pounds -- bad move.
DW won over me Moss won over 00 Joe Kurt Neighbors dog was sick and they took it to the vet -- he missed the call I honestly don't know who else is still in.
I'm out Duell is Out Skippy is out Ewing is out Camp is out The three Kuensters are out Marty "Mr. 4-speed" is out Bates is out Young Kruger is out Habure is out Vice is Out Dallas is out Clay is out
7 left -- Moss, DW are two of the 7. not sure of the rest and I need to pack up

Second Round Winners
Duvall Bye
Ewing Moss
Berens Nieghbors
posevich W Krueger
Duell Meece
Hopkins Schultz
Morris Skippy
I know Posevich and Hopkins were out in the Semis -- and that Psychotic Reaction and the red Chevelle were winners -- but that's all I can recall -- as I left the track at 11AM and drove all night to get home.
Anyone know who the winners were?

Hi, here's the play by play of the race from my side, first round I raced Jerry Kuenster(great guy). I had a .036 lite caught him at the end scrubbed the brake ran around a 11.07, second round had a single cause Neighbor couldn't show cause of the dog thing, sure hope he's ok, I have a dog too., weather was shit on my single I could only run 11.04 so I took weight out, had to run Doug posevich (nice guy) in the next round, I went .024 to his .029 I caught him and scrubbed the brake to a 11.04 or so, he dumped after I did. simi round I ran the other white 63 plymouth best friend of Jeff (and very nice guy) I had a .016 lite and scrubbed the brake to a 11.01 was worried about going under in the final, I put a little more weight in , figured I'd run it flat out to the finish, Jeff's , guy didn 't show for the simi's ( red chevelle), lined up with Jeff ( also great guy) were both 11.00 index, should be tough, I opened the throttle and the ring and pinion went south coasted out two car lengths, Jeff told me he thought I was out of the groove and still coming he hit the brakes too late and went under, I felt bad for him, he got to race for the ring and some money in my place , I never heard the out come cause I needed to leave. fun weekend, now have to fix the car going to go with a dana , but don't have time right now so I'll probably just throw a ring and pinion in it for the rest of the season. Hey, thanks Jim, I felt bad for Jeff, cause I did kind of the same thing way back in 96 at the nats in Indy, but I thought the guy was broke and lifted too soon and he came by me and and tripped the lite inches in front of me, Jeff got to race in my place in the Nmca vs Nmra and He beat his guy, but I never heard who won the face off, cause someone got some money and a ring. anyone out there know who won??
