Steve called me Saturday night to let me know that he got the chassis certified up at the Ardmore track. The Yellow Submarine can now go as fast as 8.50...... woo hoo!!!
Oh yeah, by the way....... he also made it to the final round in NSS and got runner up! He said the car went a 6.70 on Friday night and ran a solid string of 6.74's all day Saturday (like 4 in a row). Not too bad for a motor filled with old heavy TRW pistons and stock rods! I think he said he broke out with a 6.73 in the final round.
We got his block back from the machine shop and parts are on the way to put it together. This thing is really gonna fly when we get this one built. Damon did the heads and is coming up with a cam for it..... the rest is up to me to put it all together and make it sing.

Its was a good day to be at the track. The Yellow Sub and Texas Thunder were the only True NSS cars representing. They were letting any pre 72 car run the class. Mark and I just rolled with the punches all day against big tired, back halved, four link, supercharged, NOS punched bracket cars all day. LOL In the end it was me against another Mopar who was a local bracket ringer. he was nailing his numbers all day also and we were expecting a good race out of each other for the final. I had a .030 to his .050 reaction and we were nose to nose at the stripe I broke out with a 6.738 on a 6.74 and gave him the win. It was fun racing reguardless and it felt even better winning against an open field. It was cool to see all the Nostalgia fuelers, gassers and altereds. Great event to kick back and enjoy. They will be having the Hot Rod Reunion there in October and it is a big 2 day event that includes some Nostalgia TF racing. I'll be there
