Secret on how to make the advertising disappear.
Does the banner at the top of the page irritate you? Well it shouldn't as this is a free forum, which pays the bills with that advertising -- but if it does, the below is how to make it disappear.
If you use FoxFire, there's an Addon called Ghostery that will block whatever advertising you wish -- site by site.
Don't use FoxFire? Why not? It is my personal opinion that Foxfire is the best of the browsers. Once installed there are a kabillion addons that do anything from snipe ebay auctions, to block ads, to throw up thumbnails of all of your favorite sites when you want a new tab, to ..... Additionally -- you can customize the look of your browser with Personas.
www.foxfire.com/ is where you can download a free and the most recent version of Foxfire (3.6). It is easy enough for my naive 77-year-old mother to do -- and she's scared of everything.
Next go to your TOOLS, and ADDONs and search for the Ghostery (here you go addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9609 ) and install it as an addon. Then when on this site, look in the lower right corner for the little PacMan ghost icon, and you can decide what to block and what not to block -- site by site.
Also do a search for other kool addons. Only install the ones you will use -- as adding too many will eat up memory.
Also look into Personas -- and give Big Red Ram a try.
