Thanks for the info Mark. Have a guy up here asking me on setup on a 4 link rail. Not a dragster fan at all, the last one I drove had the rearend sitting right between my legs, an uneasy feeling, hoping I set the rearend gears up well . I see your point on being a NSS only shop, doing on only this type of racer should keep your shop on the leading edge of technology. poppaj

Not NSS only there Jim, we SPECIALIZE in NSS cars, but build a lot of other things. Street cars, hot rods...and being in Texas, doing a nice 63 Ford pickup now. Lately in the shop we have had 63 Ford 406, a 32 hiboy, a very nice 37 slant back, a couple of Camaros, a GTO ..a 64 Fury is haveing some shifter problems worked on and I am in the middle of a full build on a 64 Comet.........Genesis block, somewhere around 470/80 cubes, 600 hp, air, power, cruise and tilt..tko600, 9 inch and a change to mustang II style front end.........and still building on a 66 Chevelle for NSS.......just finished with a 62 Impala...took a 61 Buick Invicta top and built a bubble top car...and have another top waiting in storage and another Imp down back...about a 3 day job.............time is our problem............and I still have to get my Jerico apart and back together before the race next month...........and keep up the maint on a couple of other race cars and that blower 55..........which came home today and into our trailer.

Mark, I know for sure you know what you are doing and anytime I talked to you, I always felt you gave me an honest answer. I also buy my stuff from the same place as you. I did have trouble with the Aldan shocks going bad. I think more from hauling the car all over the country than racing. I switched to Afco and you can ask Doug Duel about them. As for 4 link setup, once I got the car dialed in, I have not touched it in years. If something starts to go away, I find it is most likely, tires, convertor or transmission, not the 4 link settings. I did have to replace the heim joints once and went to a larger Pro Stock tubing for the 4 link. Not that I know anything. I just race. Jim Netherland

Great to see that you are very busy in this economy Mark. The 63'/406 sounds like a cool build. I really liked the 406 mill, I had a 64' Custom (ex patrol car) 2dr with a built 406 at the time was a real ass-kicker. Are you going with the 3x2 setup on the 406??? Keep up the great work! Looking forward to seeing you guys at Bowling Green. poppaj

It's a 405 hp 406 with the factory 3 deuces and a big top loader 4 speed. I just put some better valve springs on it and we need to do some touch up work on the Corinthian white paint.
Hey Jim N. That black Dodge is the only one that we ever put Aldans on...Generally using the QA1s or whatever the customer specifies........Doug has been hawking the AFCO shocks for a while now......I never could decide which way they were supposed to be installed...lol My biggest problem is convincing the customers to spring for the extra bucks for double adjustable on any brand.

Mark, I have the double adjustables and put them on "upside-down". Seems to work for me but the real secert to traction is a no torque low horsepower engine. Jim N.

Mark, thanks for asking about Cindy. She is doing some better. Getting treatments twice a week and seem to be helping some. Later Jim
