I have a few hours work to do on the Malibu to get it all ship-shape.
But I wouldn't go to Bradenton if I was the only one going, and the purse was guaranteed.
Planning on seeing you all in Commerce.
Gonna make a few shake down runs on the new back end before then.
Have fun in FL, and send us lots of updates and pics.

Not me, my chit still in the machine shop......Have you tested The Whale yet? Not yet -- waiting for the weather to get warmer to take to San Antonio. Going to start off with the Vitamin C. I want to do better than the last three years of 4th place -- and starting with an unknown car killed me last year. I have a handle on the Vitamin C and will need to get a handle on the Whale before I gamble on a points race. This might be my last NMCA year. Too expensive to drive an average of 2400 miles per event.

I guess it would have to be a ghost town before NMCA pulled the plug on it (like ZMAX and others). But, with it being the first race of the year, and everyone having cabin fever, don't think that will happen.

Hopefully this year we won't have a pissed off farmer plowing at the top of the track in a 40MPH head wind we had two years ago, or the rain hold over we had last year.

Too long a drive in the pickup truck for me. May try for Commerce though.

www.fdotmaint.com/PermitNew/home.aspYou can apply for the permit on-line --- and click the box Straight Truck Towing, and in the cargo box put Motorhome with trailer containing personal car. It is $10 for a 5-day trip -- but it is near impossible to do it in less than six -- and last year we were held over Monday -- so you might want to do $30 for the whole year. Pray on the not having a CDL if you don't have one. Florida toughen their laws in 2010 -- and is rumored to stepped up enforcement. I want to say you also have to have a permit and CDL if the trailer exceeds 28' from end of tow vehicle to back of trailer, or it exceeds 10,000 pounds loaded capacity, or if the combination with your truck exceeds 21,000 pounds.

More reasons not to go (not that I needed any more, but).....
Guess FL doesn't see this as driving off tourism and commerce. Typical, narrow minded, government thinking. Get a few tax bux now, run off, out of state folks spending money, stimulating the economy, forever!
DUH!

ok... so if you have a pickup and and trailer... under 65 ft and under 26,001 you are ok then correct?
Maybe we will still get the permit just in case though
