To get your CDL -- there are a couple of $90 at-home study programs claiming to take 6-35 hours and give a 100% guarantee you pass the written test for the permit; then you have to get a DOT physical -- also about $95; then take the written test for your permit; and if you feel you can pass a road test, there are companies ($265) that will familiarize you with their lightweight tractor/trailer, and take you for your road test. You have to hustle now to have the license in your hands by the Bradenton race.

if anyone have facts (with a reference citation -- not just because you say so) to share -- or an experience with being ticketed by the law during a race oriented transport issue in Texas -- please post it on that thread. Please don't post any situation that isn't applicable to pulling a trailer to a race in the state of Texas.

Just a bunch more reasons NOT to go to Bradenton.
Along with: How far it is..... How bad the track is.... On and on....
Didn't take much to keep me away another year!
Maybe it will be at Montgomery (AL) or No Problem (LA) in '12.

Bradenton absolutely sux. I hate that blowing sand track. They must make NMCA a sweet deal for them to want to race that shit hole. I'd love to race Gainsville.

We had such a bad experience at Gainsville, running Junior Dragsters (Thanksgiving weekend race), we'll never go back.
I've never seen such a bunch of hateful, rude, up-tight, gripey, whiney, witchy track personnel in all my life! At what should have been a fun, kids race.
It was one of those races, that left such a bad taste in your mouth, you will never, never, never will go back!
Maybe things have changed in the 15 years since we were there, but they won't get one dime of my money.....

Well I don't know anything about the track personnel -- but Dallas and I got our license there at Frank Hawleys back in 2004. I liked the track having so much shut down -- and it was prepped well for Frank's cars.

I don't know how Doug stays out of jail with Indiana wanting a CDL for rigs over 45' and permits for rigs over 60'. His is 72'
