I know I would travel to them if they paid a decent purse and had a nice incentive for winning the points. Look at what the top IHRA bracket racers points leaders have a shot at Virginia this weekend? They get $1,000 for showing up. $10,000 to win Sat. and Sunday's winner gets a new loaded 32' trailer plus more cash...I guess my point is why don't they try to get more sponsers to put up nice prizes for incentive to win the points race? In turn the car count would go way up at all races.

Frankly -- they love their little Nawz'd up gum drop cars and 3-5 cars per class and the drivers just assume have every rave north of the Mason/Dixon. I'm convinced that if it wasn't 1/4 of the cars that show up -- they'd drop NSS period. I sure wish there was a decent series with a decent purse for NSS. If I won every race in a year -- I'd only lose $50K coming to their races -- yet those are the threads you have to deal with there.

Getting down to nut cutting time for the Houston race. I've had 16-20 people commit to be here. Sure would like to see closer to 24. Could use some help twisting the arms of those sitting on the fence.

Barring any unforeseen 'hiccups' Vic and Kent are planning on being there from Oklahoma, so maybe that will help the car count!

that's great
I thought Vic sold the "Color Me Gone" car?
I wish someone knew how to get a hold of Tom and Jerry Ferguson
In the past, there were always a couple of local guys (one with a blue 65 Coronet) who showed up. I have no idea who they are or how to contact them -- so I hope they somehow got the word. I haven't seen a lick of NMCA or HRP advertising on this -- and it is sure hard to do this strictly by word of mouth this late in the year.

He didn't sell it yet but it is still for sale along with the matching golf cart and lots of 'extras'. Raced with him yesterday at a super stock race at Thunder Valley in Noble. If someone is interested in the car they can see him at Houston next week.

Someone locally with a SS/AH 68 Hemi Cuda says that they'll be at the race if their car meets the rules. I sent them to a link of the rules, gave them some of the generals, and told them to post any questions here and we'll get them answered for them/

Not sure about NHRA SS tire width rules, but his car is legal in all other aspects. We've seen a few NHRA SS'ers, and Stockers run NSS in the past, the only question was tread width.
