My dad blew up the the prototype of this intake. I have raced one since they have been out. I have never blown one up. First on a cold motor pump the the throttle 3 times and open the throttle almost half way. Spin the the stater over and the hit the ignition. Another factor is a weak battery. A strong 16V battery is best but if you have a 12V system keep your battery fully charged. Most of these explosions occur in the trailer after the car has sat for a period of time. So far we have three great door prizes at the Dave Duell Classic. First TTI Exhaust is giving a $500 voucher toward TTI products. ATI is also donating a converter for our dinner. Today Mickey Thompson Tires is committing to giving us a set of rear slicks to be given away. I am working on a few more door prizes for this event. Also remember AFCO is paying for our dinner on Saturday night. Other sponsors are Indy Cylinder Head as our class sponsor, Opel Engineering for the FX Shootout and Victory Performance sponsoring our class runoffs. If you need race parts please support these companies because they support our NSS class.
Thanks, Doug
