Right now we're (Dallas is driving while I'm trying type on an iPhone in a truck going 75) driving through a storm north of Birmingham. Hope to get to Knoxville at about 2am and find a Walmart parking lot to sleep at. Expect to be at the track late tomorrow night. Stay tuned to this thread for a report.
Forgive typos as I hate typing on an iPhone.

Got to the track at 7PM -- and were sitting the staging area until 8AM. Kurt Neighbor is in front and Doug Poskevich is in back.

There's about 30 cars staged here to get in. The site says they open the gates at noon, they usually do it at 10:30 -- but the track guy came by and said it would be 8AM. We'll see.
Hope to make a couple TT passes and then at 5PM is a Qualifying round.

There are about 25 nss cars here. I made a tt pass and did a 11.170. Water was leaking out when I got back to the pits. The middle freeze plug was leaking. All I could find was blue silcone so I tried to stop it with that. As they called us to the line for the first round of qualifying we filled it with water and it was still leaking. Drained the water and drove to the top of the hill in the staging lanes. Let the car cool and rolled downhill as the last car and started it at the burnout box. Did a light burnout did an easy pass and shutoff across the finish. Dallas towed me back. Did 11.07 with 80 pounds taken out. Found some JB Weld and sandpapper, found the pinhole and have crammed some JB in it. Hopefully it will hold water in the morning and get me through the weekend. Dallas just told me I'm 9 out of 17 after the first round. Everyone is slower and most are running a class slower.

if you can , run to autozone and get one of the rubber plugs , pop the old one out and put a rubber plug in it....doubt JB will hold when it pressurizes....ylou may be able to run with the cap half on and let it go to the overflow....

Autozone was closed when Andy went by tonight. Danny says we can use his truck tomorrow if it doesn't work. Mopar freeze plugs are1.5". Right?

We unloaded the car this morning and filled with water. No leaks. Dallas drove it to 170 degrees. No leaks. I have two choices: put it in the trailer an wait for round one or not be scared and run it. I'm going to run it with the cap loose and see what I have. I still have a chance for plan b if the fix fails.

Put two spoons of pepper in the radiator and found a six pound cap. Did a 11.05 with no leaks. Doug did a 9.75 on his 9.75 as did Barry. Dark horse father did a 9.50 on his 9.50 and Kurt Neighbor is said to be on his number. Going to be tough. We have the last qualifying at about 1:30 and they're talking about first round of eliminations tonight.

They're going to have the true street guys make three passes so I don't see how well be running at 1:30. They haven't posted the standings after the 2nd qualifying yet so I don't know if the 11.053 improved me or not.

Still no word. Real strong cross wind right now and a storm on the way. I posted a photo of the qualifying standings on Facebook as I can figure out how to get from my phone to this board.
